Ewan McNeill BVMS Cert VR MRCVS

Ewan McNeill, Veterinary Surgeon and joint practice principal

back to Who's Who?

Ewan qualified from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1984, and obtained his Certificate in Veterinary Radiography in 1987. After several years in mixed practice in the Midlands area, he has worked at Castle Veterinary Centre since 1989, taking the role of joint practice principal in 1996, after buying the practice along with his wife Brin. His main interests are in orthopaedics, rabbit medicine and ophthalmology.

From May 2006 to May 2007 Ewan had the honour of the role of President of the Society of Practising Veterinary Surgeons, representing vets who work in practice at various professional conferences and meetings, as well as being called to speak for the profession in an advisory capacity to DEFRA (the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs). He currently edits an international scientific veterinary journal and also acts a UK consultant for a company that advises on the valuation and management of veterinary practices.

He has been married to Brin since 1986, and together they make up one of the two husband and wife partnerships in the practice.
